<p><b>Neue Seite</b></p><div>Die Bezeichnung "Sägezahnteller" leitet sich vom Muster am Rand des Plattentellers ab. Bei Beleuchtung des Musters mit einem Stroboskop, welches in der jeweiligen Netzfrequenz von 50Hz oder 60Hz arbeitet, ergibt sich ein stehendes Muster wenn die Umdrehungsgeschwindigkeit von 33 Umdrehungen pro Minute eingehalten werden. Im Gegensatz zum "[[Pickelteller]]" kann der "Sägezahnteller" nicht zum Abgleich einer Geschwindigkeit von 45 Umdrehungen pro Minute eingesetzt werden.<br />
